So before Christmas I saw a video for Nickelodeon Dance for the Xbox 360 Kinect. It looked pretty good and something my 3 year old twin boys and 5 year old daughter would really enjoy. They love Fruit Ninja and we needed another Kinect game for them to play so I had my wife put it on their Christmas list.
This weekend we really got some solid family play time in and I have to admit this is a really great game. It’s very entertaining and will really bring a smile to your child’s face.
As you can see from the video below the Nick Jr. characters lead the dancing and the player follows along while the Kinect senses their movements. The fewer mistakes a player makes the more points they rack up. Some of the moves in the game can be difficult but the game is forgiving so there are also very easy ones as well.
In addition, this game provides a decent workout. While it’s no surprise that an “almost” 40 year old father can become winded, the kids too were getting a little worn out the longer we played. The two player mode is really fun and everybody laughs when they realize that they’re doing the twist with the likes of Diego or Dora the Explorer. The game also includes characters from the Backyardigans and animated versions of the Fresh Beat Band members.
